Hi,

I’m Da In!

I'm delighted to have the opportunity to connect with you and start your journey of self-discovery and personal growth!

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and hold a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto. Although I am based in Ontario, I work virtually with clients across Canada.

I believe that true transformation begins with hada (하다)—a Korean word meaning "to do" or "to act." I’m committed to guiding you on a journey of healing and growth, where taking meaningful action leads to lasting change. My approach is rooted in a client-centred philosophy that honours your unique experiences, strengths, and goals.

I offer individual and couples therapy, and specialize in helping clients navigate challenges related to sex, trauma, anxiety, identity, and depression. Therapy isn’t just about talking; it’s about doing the work. Whether you’re working through past trauma, seeking deeper connection in your relationships, navigating cultural identity, or looking to build healthier patterns around your body or emotional well-being, I will help you take intentional steps toward the change you desire. My goal is to empower you to reconnect with your inner strength, build resilience, and move forward with purpose.

In our work together, we’ll create an environment where you feel supported, understood, and equipped to take action toward a more authentic, fulfilling life. I’m here to help you to take the steps necessary for lasting growth and transformation.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based approach that helps individuals accept difficult emotions and thoughts rather than struggling to avoid or control them. ACT encourages people to clarify their values and take committed action toward living a meaningful life, even in the face of challenges. By teaching psychological flexibility, ACT helps clients respond more effectively to stress, build resilience, and align their actions with what truly matters to them. The goal is not to eliminate discomfort, but to develop the ability to move forward with purpose and self-compassion.

  • Client Focused Therapy is an approach that centres on the individual’s unique experiences, needs, and perspective. It emphasizes a collaborative, non-judgmental relationship between therapist and client, where the client is seen as the expert of their own life. The therapist provides a supportive space for self-exploration, empowerment, and growth, tailoring interventions to the client’s pace and preferences.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and addressing patterns of thought and emotion that contribute to self-destructive behaviours. The goal is to develop healthier coping strategies while gradually replacing maladaptive patterns with more constructive ones.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) blends Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with principles from Psychodynamic Therapy and Zen Buddhism. DBT is a structured approach that aims to reduce harmful behaviours and thoughts, helping individuals build a life that supports emotional well-being and overall quality of life.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based approach that helps couples and individuals explore and transform their emotional responses to strengthen relationships. By identifying and shifting negative emotional patterns, EFT fosters deeper understanding, connection, and secure bonding. It supports clients in expressing their needs and feelings more openly, creating a space for trust and empathy to grow. The goal of EFT is to break through cycles of conflict and disconnection, helping people build more resilient and fulfilling emotional connections with their partners.

  • The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It focuses on enhancing communication, increasing emotional intimacy, and resolving conflicts in a healthy way. The method identifies key patterns that predict relationship success or failure, and provides practical tools to help couples strengthen their bond. By fostering respect, empathy, and understanding, the Gottman Method helps partners build a lasting, supportive relationship.

  • Relational Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy are evidence-based therapies focused on helping individuals explore and express core emotions. They use the therapeutic relationship to uncover unconscious patterns and provide insight into how past experiences influence current behaviors and relationships. These approaches help individuals develop a more accurate, compassionate view of themselves and others, fostering healthier ways of relating. The goal is to promote emotional awareness, self-understanding, and more fulfilling interpersonal connections.

  • Solution Focused Therapy is a goal-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It helps individuals and couples identify their strengths and resources to create positive change, emphasizing what is working in their lives rather than what isn’t. Through practical strategies and future-focused conversations, clients are guided to develop clear goals and take actionable steps toward achieving them. The aim is to promote quick, meaningful progress by highlighting existing solutions and building on them for lasting change.

  • Trauma Informed Therapy recognizes the impact of trauma on an individual’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It focuses on creating a safe, compassionate environment where clients can process trauma at their own pace. This approach emphasizes understanding the effects of trauma on behaviour, promoting empowerment, and fostering trust and safety throughout the therapeutic process.
